actually I have a problem..am makin a program where I have worked a lot with datasets..I didnt know that it was a matter of additional package to use datasets..so to be short I need to know about differences and similarities between datasets and tables especially whether the conditions and logical indexing using tables can be done as we do with datasets

on the first of the 3 links you referred to, how does the program know that it has to plot the nr of patients vs bmi on the histogram that has to conpare bmi of smokers and non smokers. ; coudnt understand the syntax where "histogram" is used..

tf returns 0 or 1 if the patients smoke or not and then it is used to index the table's content (read the second link to acess data from a table) where patients come under the condition ones are considered in this case.

If you know how then wouldn't you develop your own software and use it for free? The algorithms which are implemented to develop a software is confidential.

I didnt mean that 'how', I just didnt understand that Binmethod syntax I think that came after the variable name.

help histogram 

Describes :

histogram(...,'BinMethod',BM), uses the specified automatic binning algorithm to determine the number and width of the bins.

BM represents 'integers' in your case.

'integers' - The integer rule is useful with integer data, as it creates a bin for each integer. It uses a bin width of 1 and places bin edges halfway between integers. This option is not supported for datetime or duration data.

All you need to do is read the documentations carefully.
