GPIB interface for Instrument Control under LINUX

EDIT: I'm adding the answers I've found (in Bold Italics) with the help of Walter Roberson's accepted answer below which also led me toward a nearly complete picture:
I found this page which lists "Minimum Driver Reqiurements" for four manufacturers, but I cannot figure out what GPIB PCI or usb controller I should get that would be compatible with Instrument Control Toolbox under LINUX.
I have some questions:
- If I find a device that's compatible with the specified driver, do I need a LINUX driver for it or do you provide it with the toolbox? Yes
- What is Agilent's "SICL version H.012.02.00" driver? I searched the interwebs and couldn't find any reference to this that wasn't basically wasn't directly from your abovementioned website.Accepted answer discussed this but led me to stumble on this - Click the "Linux" button and... last November they released their first Linux IO Libraries Suite. Compatible with specific versions of RedHat and CentOS. Looks like it supports much if not all of their GPIB haredware Nice! I expect an enterprising soul could figure out how to get it into other distros.
- Similarly, what is Measurement Computing's "GPIB-488, Version 2.3"? Again, I found no references that weren't from your sites. MCC's GPIB boards are obsolete and drivers supporting 2.3 can be found buried in their FTP site referred to in the accepted answer, but all Windows, no Linux.
- Finally, National Instruments' "NI-488 version 1.6" is so old that NI doesn't even list it on their compatibility table with 3.0 being the oldest one, so it's not certain that any of them would work with 1.6. Thanks to Walter's reference to the OS table, I figured out that at least some NI controllers have Linux drivers, like Agilent, on RedHat/CentOS, but others as well, including OSX.
It's clear to me that the table you provide is insufficient for me to make a decision on purchasing an interface, even for Windows, much less LINUX.
Please clarify or update your requirements so that I can select a GPIB controller device for LINUX with some confidence. I'll even change my Linux distribution if I have to in the case that you don't provide drivers.
Well, I now know that I'll have to change distro to RedHat (Fedora) or CentOS - not a big deal. I just have to id which controllers to choose from. Will provide a clean post when I get there.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Lou

You need the vendor drivers.
It looks to me as if Agilent might not support Linux. https://www.keysight.com/main/editorial.jspx?cc=CA&lc=eng&ckey=1462166&nid=-536900526.697048.02&id=1462166&cmpid=92958
When you search their site for GBIP then all of the products shown are marked as obsolete, except possibly the 4080 series parametric testers -- which, incidentally, are described as Linux based.

Aligent SICL series H was started around 2000. The current release is 16 series, what would have been P series if they had continued to use letters .
No Linux support appears to be available .
