Why the script file is not saved?

Whenever I try to save a script file for the first time after opening MATLAB the file does not save , I have to restart MATLAB to save a file. Why does this happen? I have lots of files in the filebrowser. Is that the problem? It hasn't happened in 2017a version but currently in 2018b this happens.
I use Macbook Pro Sierra , 2018b version of MATLAB.

What does "the file does not save" mean exactly? Do you get an error message? Please explain, what you observe instead of what does not happen.
I don't get any error message , the dialog box appears normally and after clicking save in the dailog box , the name of the file remains untitled2 or whatever but it isn't saving unless I restart matlab and do the same procedure again with the new file.

Sounds like one for tech support. Certainly not something I have come across in Windows 10.
If it happens one more time that's what I am going to do.

Strangely this just happened to me today too for the first time!
Oh so I guess I'm not the only one.
