DocBlock : Change the file extension to .md

Hi,
I am going to be using the DocBlock in order to document my functionality. I will be writing in markdown format.
When I use the Block, the temporary file is created with a .txt file extension. I have the following questions to it
  1. Is it possible to give the temporary file created a .md extension?
  2. Where does the DocBlock actually save the data?
