Populating a word doument with infomation from a excel spreadsheet?

I would like to know how I would be able to automate the population a word doument with infomation from a excel spreadsheet?

I would like to have one template word document which would be duplicated many times, each time infomation form the next row of excel data would be copied in to the newly created word document.

Use the Word tab Mailings tools:

use your spreadsheet as "recipient list".

In this sense, MATLAB could be helpful to reformat the spreadsheet in the event that your data is not collected as in a pure database with fields and records. Outside of this, you don't need MATLAB.
