How to prevent overfilling of 'fitrgp' function.

Can someone help me about 'fitrgp' Gaussian process regression function? I meet an overfitting problem when model a sparse data set. I tested 'Regulerization' paprameter but it is useless. Appreciate any help. Thanks.
