What can I do if I am on a trial and getting license number 0 from the ver command?

I am on a trial, and one or both of the following commands give me a license number of 0:
>> ver
>> ver -support
What can I do?

In the MATLAB Home Tab, go to Help > Licensing > Update Current Licenses , then (re)try
>> ver -support
If this does not resolve the issue, please contact MathWorks installation technical support.
