Phase shift correction After filteration

Hi,

I have two sensor recorded signal, I have filtered then with band pass filter. I have seen poor correlation coeffcient among these two signal which was the main task. My teacher said the poor correlation is due to phase shift, I detected phase shift but dont know how to correct or remove them, to obtain better correlation. both the signals are almost sinosoidal.

Let's say you have a phase shift that works out to 100 samples based on your sample rate. If you're just doing analysis on a recorded signal can't you just shift the filtered signal back by 100 elements?
