BAR graph not working

bar(x,y)
this is a example problem in MATLAB i am getting belllow error,
Error using bar
Too many input arguments.
i can use other plots for above data can any one tell me reason thanks in advance

Is that the exact piece of code you used? On my computer (and Matlab version R2018a) that runs absolutely fine.

yes i have used exact code in Matlab version R2017b
i dont get ant errors for plot(x,y) or any other plots only error in bar(x,y) and hist(x,y)
