How does IFTTT works in conjunction with your email notification?

I have configure webhook applet using IF and THEN from IFTTT website, Question is if ThingHttp as action for your React to be used. Why do we have to test the URL in order to get notification, see example below. Meaning it suppose to send notification about your channel automatically? Or am i missing something while configure THEN statement about the field from the body? Lastly react when condition is met it shows on your app, does it shows all the notification on your email(account on thingspeak)? that your temp is alarming. Can anyone make me to understand this integration process easily, i cant seem to understand the action of using ThingHttp together with React as to which one send email when your event is alarming.

ThingSpeak now has its own alerts service! You wont need IFTTT to do the integration. Have a look at Vinods response in this post.
