How can I open ROI files ?

I have a folder containing files with the extension ''.roi'' which represent regions of interest of mammograms of a database. Can I open these files in matlab ? how to do this ? can I display them in a figure ?

You might try attaching an example of the file so that someone can try to figure it out. I personally am not familiar with the filetype, but it might help.
