ActiveX communication with RT Motion Controller

I am currently running R2012a on windows 7 - 64 bit operating system. I have created a GUI which creates system stiffness targets for a simulated bench test operation. I would like to pass this data to a RT motion controller using ActiveX. I have registered the ocx file using regscr32 in DOS command prompt. While in the Matlab environment I call the control and receive the below error.

H = actxcontrol('TrioPC Control') Error using actxcontrol (line 185) Control creation failed. Invalid ProgID 'TrioPC Control'

I have contacted the hardware company who appears to have limited knowledge using Matlab with their ActiveX control.

Is this likely due to the 64 bit operating system that I am currently running.

If someone could see if this registers on a 32 bit variant I would appreciate the help.
