Export FMU for cosimulation.

I am currently working on the co-simulation of undistributed and distributed power systems.

I use FMU but I have a question:

Is it possible to export a simulink/simscape model to an FMU with a variable time step for costimulation because the fixed time step is prohibitive for the simulation time?
