Session-based continuous output of data in a ring-buffer using the data acquisition toolbox?

Suppose you want to generate a periodic signal using the data acquisition toolbox running in the background. Is it always necessary to have a listener keep queueing data as here:

Or is there a possibility to have the data of a cycle stored in a circular buffer and tell the toolbox to keep using it without the use of the listener?
