Matlab fails to detect sensor

I am trying to learn sensor fusion using arduino and mpu9250 sensor.

a = arduino('COM3','Uno','Libraries','I2C');
 sensorObj = mpu9250(a)

matlab detects the arduino but when i give mpu9250(a) command the output is

Expected sensor not detected. Connect the right sensor to the hardware and try again.

is there a problem with mpu9250 or there is small tweak which can fix this issue.

when i scan for availble I2C bus, I get only one I2C address. i get following results:

>> addrs = scanI2CBus(a)

addrs =

1×1 cell array

{'0x68'}

MPU9250 has 2 I2C units :

Accelerometer-Gyroscope with I2C Address 0x68 or 0x69

Magnetometer with I2C Address 0x0C

From the scanI2CBus output you posted, seems like there is only one unit. MPU6050 also has the I2C address 0x68 and looks similar to MPU9250. Can you check if the right sensor is connected.

Thank you for your response. Yes i check the sensor, it is MPU9250/6500. It could be the faulty sensor, I will get new sensor and try again.

I have the same problem, at first i thought the sensor was damaged, so i bought a new one, but the same problem occured, so i test the sensor on a differente board (NodemCu) and both sensors works perfelctly fine. Do you know how to fix this error on matlab?

Greetings! Have you found the solution for this problem? I have gy-6500/9250 sensor. Using mpu6050 MatLab command, I have the following warning: Warning: Incorrect device ID read from the connected sensor. Expected device ID (value stored in WHO_AM_I register) for MPU6050 is '104'. Make sure that the correct device is connected.

Using mpu9250 command, I have an error: Expected sensor not detected. Connect the right sensor to the hardware and try again.

Pins connection:

3.3V -> VCC

GND -> GND

A5 -> SCL

A4 -> SDA

My code (only arduino is connected to my notebook):

uno = arduino;

imu = mpu9250(uno);

I also use the MPU9250/6500 and got the same error. I bought several sensors with the same problem. How do I solve this problem?

I tried using MPU9250 with Arduino at my end, I am able to create mpu9250() sensor object.

Could you please provide the following info :

• Product link from which you brought the sensor
• Arduino board you are using
• Operating system

Based on this link, the problem was solved. By replacing twi.c and twi.h, I got the real values.
