Simulink Coder - Optimizing code generated for local variables

Dear Techies,
In Stateflow charts for variables of local scope Simulink Coder generates structure variables with extern type. But I want to generate variables without structure of local definition.
Anybody help me in how to configure that in Simulink Coder? I am using GRT target file as I dont have Embedded Coder License.
