Adding an time development arrow in a graph

Hy,

i'm currently working on a statistical annalysis of some sort. I have a graph showing 2 properties and now i want to add how these properties change in time. Much like the quiver function but then on a line rather than on a plane.

So what i wanne do is connect the dots on a line by arrows pointing at the next dot.

Is there any way to do this?
