What should i give in place of 'haar' for getting float dwt transform

You may want to check in the Image processing toolbox, http://www.mathworks.com/products/image/ failing which the MATLAB File Exchange http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/ is your best bet.
