The end of life (EOL) for MATLAB releases depends on the date when MathWorks discontinues support for the operating system that the release is used on.
If you have a current subscription to MathWorks Software Maintenance Service (SMS), MathWorks will respond to technical questions and provide workarounds when possible for a period of two years from the date when MathWorks discontinued support for an operating system.
Refer to our Platform Road Map to see the current plans of MathWorks in terms of operating system support: https://www.mathworks.com/support/requirements/platform-road-map.html

The EOL for any given release is the latest of Mathworks discontinuing support for an operating system that it was supported on, plus 2 years. So for example any matlab release that was ever officially supported on Windows 7sp1 is still supported.
Some vendors have a fixed duration policy such as "4 years after release" but Mathworks does not.

This is not a good answer, @MathWorks Support Team - It's like saying pi is the ratio of circumference and diameter, when the question asked is what is the value of pi, not the definition.
Walter's response provides information and context, which should have been mentioned in the answer itself.
The answer should be modified to include contacting TMW technical support (with the link to support center) for the required (and any additional) information of a particular combination of OS and MATLAB version.

@Walter Roberson Thanks for summarizing our post.
@Dyuman Joshi Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, we cannot change the wording of the article at this time. Of course, users can contact MathWorks support anytime to inquire about the support status for a MATLAB release. The intention behind this article was to facilitate self-service.

@Stefanie Schwarz, Thank you for your response.
"Unfortunately, we cannot change the wording of the article at this time.
Why so? Are the answers submitted by MST account locked after some-time? Or is there some other constraint?
"Of course, users can contact MathWorks support anytime to inquire about the support status for a MATLAB release. The intention behind this article was to facilitate self-service."
That's why it would be better to mention the link to TMW Support.
Also, I don't think my response belongs as an answer (Walter's response is more appropriate as an answer) on this thread, so I will be moving it back to being a comment to the answer by MST.
