Why do I receive an error when I run a MATLAB-created executable?

I get the following error message when I run a MATLAB-created executable:

 The procedure entry point ##### could not be located in the dynamic-link library ###.dll

This error indicates that you have multiple installations of either MATLAB or the MATLAB Math and Graphics Run-Time Libraries on your computer. The error occurs because, when the executable is running, your system is attempting to link against the DLL corresponding to an older version of MATLAB or MATLAB Math and Graphics Run-Time Libraries (files created by MGLINSTALLER) installation.

To resolve this problem, change your system path variable such that the \bin\win32 directory in the installation directory of the later MATLAB release or MATLAB Math and Graphics Run-Time Libraries appears first on the system path. For information on setting your path, see the Related Solution.
