Why do I get the error 337: "The information you provided could not be processed. Please check your input and try again." when activating/installing my MATLAB?

When performing an online installation & activation I get the following error after entering my MathWorks account credentials:

ERROR: Error 337: The information you provided could not be processed.  Please check your input and try again.

This error can occur when the activation process fails. Try performing the activation again in 15 minutes. If you are still unable to complete the process, doing a manual activation can bypass this issue. See the MATLAB Answer link below for more details.

This error may also occur if you are attempting to activate MATLAB automatically to a Concurrent license. End users on a Concurrent license need the license server details in order to use the license. These details may be stored in a license file that may be used for activation, in an environment variable, or other in another place. See the documentation link below for more details.
