How can I open a subsystem in a Simulink model in a new window in Simulink 8.0(R2012b)?

When I double click on a subsystem in Simulink 8.0, the subsystem opens up in the same window unlike the earlier releases of MATLAB where it would open up in a new window.

To take take advantage of the tabbed window, this feature was incorporated from Simulink (R2012b). However, there are three different ways to open a subsystem in a new window in MATLAB 8.0

1. Hold the 'Shift' key while double clicking on the subsystem.

2. Open the Model Browser, and hold the 'Shift' key while clicking on the subsystem in the model browser.

3. Right click on the subsystem and choose open in a new tab.
