Why am I unable to display the Property Inspector by right-clicking in GUIDE in MATLAB 7.0.4 (R14SP2) on Linux?

In MATLAB 7.0.4 (R14SP2) on Linux, I right-click in GUIDE and select "Property Inspector" from the context menu. However, the Property Inspector does not appear.

This bug has been fixed in Release 2007a (R2007a). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:

We have verified that there is a bug in MATLAB 7.0.4 (R14SP2) when opening the Property Inspector in GUIDE.

To work around this issue, use the "Property Inspector" button on the toolbar, the "View -> Property Inspector" menu item from the GUIDE menu, or by double-clicking on the uicontrol object.
