Table Header Unlock

I'm trying to change the background color of the table column header. I've accessed the table header through: tableHeader = Table.getTable.getTableHeader;

I've tried set(tableHeader,'Background',[0 0 0]), in which case I get the following error: ??? Error using ==> set Attempt to write a locked object.

I've also tried tableHeader.setBackground(java.awt.Color[r=0,g=0,b=0]), in which case it gives no error messages, but the background color doesn't actually change.

How are you creating the variable Table?
