How do I save my editor preferences when I copy MATLAB to a new machine?

I am porting my copy of MATLAB R2006a to a new machine and would like the editor to "remember" the last files that were open in the previous installation.

The MATLAB Editor saves the files that have been previously opened in MATLABDesktop.xml . This file can be found in the PREFDIR directory by typing:
prefdir
at the command line. Copy this file from the old installation and place in the PREFDIR directory on the new installation.
