Julian2doy, converts a (modified) Julian date to day of the year (1-366). Optionally, the year is also returned, to make the converted date umambiguous. Fractions of the day are ignored. Doy and year together presents us with yet another date representation. This package aims to provide a reliable and scalable solution (accepts scalar and vector regardless of orientation) for converting from a Julian date epoch to the day of year conversion for applications in which both julian date and doy-year are encountered, such as working with satellite data.
