Matlab/Editor windows and fonts resize (get smaller) on right click ... why?
Mostra commenti meno recenti
Hi There,
I am using MATLAB 2013b (64bit) on a Windows convertible laptop (Win 8.1 - 64bit).
When the MATLAB runs at the beginning the size of the windows and fonts are all normal compared to the system's font and display sizes, but once I do a right click everything gets re-sized (smaller) and I would have to restart the program to go back to normal.
If I had to explain it better, the effects are similar to "Changing the Size of all items" for display in the Windows system from 150% to 100%.
Does anybody know why this happens and if there is a fix for it?
Thank you in advanced ... HoSsEiN

Does anyone have an answer to this?
I have the same problem. Win 8.1, matlab 2013b 64bit.
When ever I right-click while I am in .m editor, it changes resolution of only matlab (zoom out). It only happens if the script is saved! Not while I right-click in the New Script (unsaved).

Without knowing more, if you upgraded from Win 8, it might be incompatible video drivers. Check for updates.

I have the same issue! Plus the code I run is not working anymore after the window changes size and I have to restart MATLAB. I am using MATLAB 2013B as well, on windows 8.1 64bit. I've updated all my video drivers as well..

I have the same issue. MATLAB shrinks dramatically in font size when I accidentally right click the MATLAB editor window after opening a script file. I don't know how to change it back to its normal font size and would always have to restart MATLAB. I have R2015a.

left click in the live editor box and cmd + (maybe ctrl + on windows). This worked for me to go back to normal.

1) Close Matlab. 2) In the Windows Explorer, navigate to the 'bin' directory for your Matlab installation. 3) Right click on 'matlab.exe' and select "Properties". 4) On the "Compatibility" tab, put a check mark on "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings". 5) Click Apply and the OK. 6) Start Matlab.
This works in Windows 8

This does not work for me on Windows 8 using R2015a. I have the exact same issue as the OP. When I follow the directions above, it does exactly what the original problem is - it changes the scaling of the windows and fonts to be un-readble (too small). Essentially, this "fix" just guarantees that the right click problem will be enforced whether your right click or not!

I agree with what Matthew said. Upon opening MATLAB, the fonts and MATLAB window shrunk and became very difficult to read. I have R2015a.

Windows 10 fix for R2014a: - Open Properties of exe file ( inside bin folder ) - Open Compatibility - Check Override high DPI scaling behavior. - Choose Scaled performed by System.

command + shift + 2 fingers scroll up (or down) lets you increase (decrease) the font size in the help window ... but looks weird before it gets stable to what you want ... R2019, MacBook Pro.
2 fingers zoom lets you increase the font size in .mlx
command , (or Preference) ... Fonts(*) Custom Editor ... Desktop code (assuming you did *set the fonts you want in Fonts) in .m
... why so unintuitively different for help, mlx and m viewer/editor ? ... I do not know.

Can you elaborate this if I want to shrink the font size of the .m file tabs in the Editor window for macOS?

Did someone resolve the exact same issue on Linux? I got this problem with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 on Arch Linux with Gnome.

In R2013b, right click on matlab, go to properties, go to compatibility, click on ''change high DPI settings'', check the option '' Override high DPI scaling behaviour'', select scaling performed by '' System( Enhanced). It worked for me.
