Matlab freeze in 2021b

Hi

When using matlab 2021b i offent experience than matlab frezze in shorter periods and that it becomes very slowly responding in the editor.

I have the problem both on my mac and PC, any proposales to solve this issue ?

My collegue and I are haveing massive issues as well, such as hangs and crashes.

It is astonishing that Mathworks can produce such poor quality garbage and sell it for thousands of dollars. Mathworks should be ashamed of themselves for focusing on delivering toolboxes with fancy buzzwords instead of fixing their [products].

I'd think a competent response would have a solution nearly a month later on something that makes one's product unusable.

The original poster didn't come back and report on what happened when they contacted support.

If you're experiencing a hang when using MATLAB please contact Technical Support as Star Strider suggested and work with the Support staff to determine the cause and ideally how to work around the problem.

After using 2021b a few days, I reverted to 2021a. Unfortunately, I don't have to time to debug and test ongoing matlab development projects. Had this been an open-source project, I would maybe in some cases have taken the time.

I had the same problem and telephoned with the MATLAB support in Munich.

The solution is simple mostly it is the graphics driver from the graphics card or the driver from the internal graphics.

You just simply have to start Matlab with its inbuild softwaregraphics and it runs perfectly.

To get there right klick on your Matlab Icon and klick on Open file location.

Then there should be now opening the Explorer where your MAtlab link is situated.

Right klick on MATLAB R2021b and klick on properties.

Now you should should see a property window of MATLAB 2021b.

Go on Connections or ("Verknüpfungen" in German) and go at the end of the target (Ziel:) field.

There you have to add behind the quotation marks with a space the fat part.

"C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2021b\bin\matlab.exe" -softwareopengl

Press Take over (Übernehmen) and now you can start matlab without your hardware graphics driver which produceses the whole errrors.

And thats it now it should run smoothly.

The alternativ is to update your graphics card driver and your internal Intel or AMD graphics driver and watch if it runs. In my case it didn't. So I stayed with the first solution.
