Save figures with a variable name in a subfolder of current working folder

I want save figures with a name that is determined by the variables plotted and save them in a subfolder of current working folder. Therefore I need a function that changes the name of the saved figure with a logic given my me. I did the same for the title of the figure by using the function

 title(['lambda ',num2str(TSR(k)),' radius optimal section ',num2str(r_rif(t)/R*100),' %']);

where the TSR(k) and r_rif(t)/R*100 are detrmined according to the running of the code. I would like something similar to determine the name with which I save my figure, together with the command to save it a specific folder.

Can you not just use the same idea you do for the title? And use

doc fullfile

to concatenate the folder with the filename (plus extension)

Yes, it is exactly what I am doing by typing

saveas(gcf,['M_','lambda',num2str(TSR(k)),'&r_rif',num2str(r_rif(t)/R*100),'%'],'pdf');

but I do not know how and where I have to specify the subfolder path

The 2nd argument to saveas is the filename, including filepath. You can put your full path together from components using the fullfile function and pass it in there.

e.g. fullfile( 'C:\Users', 'Me', 'SomeSubfolder', 'Somefilename.fig' )

fullfile( 'C:\Users', 'Me', 'SomeSubfolder', ['M_','lambda',num2str(TSR(k)),'&r_rif',num2str(r_rif(t)/R*100),'%'],'pdf' );

???

You can literally test it out on your command line. You have to put the file extension in as part of the filename though, e.g.

['M_','lambda',num2str(TSR(k)),'&r_rif',num2str(r_rif(t)/R*100),'%.pdf']

(assuming that all evaluates to something that is a valid filename. I don't have those variables in my workspace to test).

The arguments to fullfile will just get put together with a file separator ( \ ) between them, so putting the file extension as an argument to this will not work.

Ok I got it. What do I have to write in the position of SomeSubfolder? The entire path going from desktop to subfolder or only the name of the subfolder?

Prefer the complete path including the disk.

You can break up or combine those first 3 arguments I gave as an example however you want. I was just showing how you can piece together a full path from components where you may want to pass in an argument for a different user and then a subpath under that as its own argument. If you prefer you can put the whole path in a single argument and then your file name, with extension as the 2nd argument.
