dicomread Error regarding encoding

I am trying to read a dicom file using dicomread, but receive the following error:

"Data encoding for transfer syntax UID "1.2.840.10008.1.2.4.80" not supported."

Are there any work arounds for this?

Try to read it in some other program that can read that unsupported format and write it out again, or export it to a different format, like PNG. Attach the .dcm file if you still have trouble.
