Does Matlab/Simulink have support to the Parrot Anafi Drone - 2023a?

Hi,

I am currently a student studying AE working on my senior capstone project in order to graduate and I was trying to look through the forums and didn't get much luck in finding much recent info on it and I wanted to try out posting on here to see if anyone could give me a straight answer. My university currently has a license for R2023a and planning to upgrade to R2023b in the spring, and for my teams project we are looking into getting a parrot drone specifically cause they play nice with matlab/simulink and they are pretty cheap most times. But before we make a decision I just wanted to find out if the Parrot Anafi drone can support MATLAB R2023a or will have support in R2023b in the future. If not we will be going with a Bebop or Mambo FPV for our project, and if anyone had any updated links to acquire those that would be a great help but not needed of course.

Hey Scott!

Are you working with Parrot ANAFI drone? I'm working on the same drone but I have a problem, I can't get all of the inertial paramters of the drone such the mass moment of inertia.

Do you have the values of these paramters or do you know a way that enables me to get htese values since I looked for them online but couldn't find anything?

hey baker,

No unfortunately we aren't using the Anafi. We decided on using the Bebop 2 for our project, since it can work with the parrot support matlab package file.

Regarding the I_mm question you asked. I’m not entirely sure on how to read or call that mass moment of inertia data. I know the drones have an IMU data set that you can read but I think some of the parameters might just be locked within the drone inaccessible by consumers. you might need hand calculation if at all possible, again not entirely sure.

I am working with Parrot ANAFI drone. I have the same issues too. I made too much research but I could not get important parameters of the drone such as angles, inertia etc.

So I could not design a controller on MATLAB. And I could not connect the drone by using MATLAB.

If you solve the problems, would you make everybody know please?

No in R2023b

Mambo is supported.

The package has not been updated for years, so I would not expect Anafi support in future.
