Why do I see "The support package you selected is already installed. If you wish to reinstall it, uninstall it first from the Add-on Manager"?

The Add-On Manager shows an update available for my support package. When I click on the "Update" button, I see the following message:

"The support package you selected is already installed. If you wish to reinstall it, uninstall it first from the Add-on Manager."

MathWorks is aware of this issue. The current workaround is to uninstall, then reinstall the support package in order to obtain the newest update.

This error will be fixed in a future update of MATLAB.
