How can I save figures and include them to Word with the best quality as shown in published journals?

I am used to save figures as emf or eps format before I insert them to Word. Also, I used Word to convert docx file to pdf file. But they have drawback.
1. If I save figure as emf format, the figures are displayed well in Word. However, when convert the docx file to pdf, the grid lines of figure becomes solid line. It is unacceptable for papers.
2. If I save figure as eps format, the title, axis, or numbers in the figure become BOLD when inserting them to Word. Unlike emf format, eps keep the grid line well when converting it to pdf. To remove BOLD, I am used to insert eps file to powerpoint, then ungroup the figure and edit each character or number to let its weight be normal from bold (Powerpoint seems like add solid line to all elements of figure, so I remove that lines MANUALLY). It is time consuming completely.
Some friends recommend me use other pdf convert programs to have a good grid line with emf format. But some time that problem still occurs. In addtion, Word should be used for conversion task since only it will keep the links, heading, hyperlink, endnote references and so on.
I read many journals and books and I release that they have very good figures which is enhanced metafile, clear, same fontsize and fontweight with text, no fuzzy, grid line is correct. Therefore, I would like to ask if you can let me know how to do that?
Thank you so much and I am looking for your help
Best regards,
M.N.
