How to create a grid to locate/ analyze spatiotemporal data

Hi Everyone,

I am new to MATLAB and trying to find an efficient approach to create a grid of a geographical area. We have a lot of geo-tagged time series data (trajectory data of different vehicles) which we want to analyze their spatiotemporal distribution. I am trying to come up with a good approach to create the grid and locate hundreds of thousands of time-stamped data points in the grid cells.

Would you please provide me with your suggestions to implement it?
