If I recall correctly, the home licence can be activated on multiple computers (3?), while a student licence can only be active on 1 computer.
You might get a more self-confident answer from Walter if he notices your post, but otherwise I second the advice of Image Analyst given here: Mathworks doesn't give definitive answers on this forum about licencing, so you will have to read the licence or ask their support directly.
