interpret this matlab code in Java

Please I will like to interpret the following matlab code in java code. I will appreciate it if anyone can help me.

sum (a(1:i)>a(i) + 0.5 * sum(a(i) == a(1:i)))/i

There's a closing parentheses missing from somewhere so it's not valid Matlab code. Also 'Sum' is not the same as 'sum'. Is the first supposed to be a variable or the function?

Either way, it doesn't seem like complicated code. I don't program in java myself, but if you do then I would assume it is simple.
