How to change the line thickness inside the legend box ?

Hi All

in the UIAxes, how do I change the line thickness inside the legend box that indicate each of the plots in the graphic interface? since if too thin, it is hard to see and the legend reading will get difficult

The line properties of the legend components cannot be changes independently from the line objects they represent in the plot. So, the easiest solution is to change the line properties from within the plot.

h = plot(x,y, 'LineWidth', 1.5); 
% or
h.LineWidth = 1.5; 

If you want the change the legend representation without changing the line property, you can copy the line and replace its XData and YData with NaN values so it doesn't appear in the plot. Then you can change it's LineWidth property and create the legend using the new line's handle.

ax = axes(); 
hold on
h = plot(x,y, 'b-o');
hLeg = copyobj(h, ax); 
set(hLeg, 'XData', NaN, 'YData', NaN, 'LineWidth', 1.5)
legend(hLeg)

There are two ways to name the legend string.

legend(hLeg, 'Name1')

or (I recommend this approach)

h = plot(x,y, 'b-o', 'DisplayName', 'Name1');
%                    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
hLeg = copyobj(h, ax); 
set(hLeg, 'XData', NaN, 'YData', NaN, 'LineWidth', 1.5)
legend(hLeg)

Most questions don't get answered. There are many factors that contribute to a question's visibility.

If the title focuses on an area that few people are experts in, few people will read the question.

The time-of-day that a question is posted matters. The forum has active contributors from around the world but I've noticed that fewer questions are tended to in the early evening hours of Eastern Standard Time.

Once an unanswered question gets bumped down off of the 1st page of questions, fewer people will see it.

You might try editing the title or the content of your question. That will bump it back up on the list of unanswered questions. I don't have enough experience with compiler to directly address your question.

? Then one would get many "h" and "hLeg". Can one use a vector of "hLeg:s" for the legend?

Yes, you can supply a vector of handles in legend(). I don't know what hLegs:s is but if the objects are all stored in separate variables,

legend([h1, h2, h3, h4, ... hn])
