Is there a list of MatLab tutors?

Is there a list of MatLab tutors somewhere that I can hire on an hourly basis to help me get started?

I prefer someone I can talk to by telephone using one of the screen sharing apps.

I probably only need an hour or two to get started, but may need the occasional hour or two later on as I tackle more advanced tasks.

Yes, I have, and they are pretty good. The problem is that (a) they are general in nature and (b) there is no real-time feedback. I have a very specific objective and that involves both elementary concepts and some fairly advanced ones. My experience in the past when taking up a non-trivial tool is that introductory tutorials cover a lot of concepts that I do not need at the moment and will not remember when I do. I find that learning just those aspects of the tool that I need is far, far more efficient. In addition, learning from someone who knows the tool well enables me to acquire good habits and techniques right from the start.

I could probably learn to play the piano by reading tutorials and watching videos, but I bet I would acquire a lot of less-than-ideal techniques that I would have to unlearn later if I ever wanted to be a really good pianist.

Finally, my time is worth something. I good tutor can get me up to speed in a fracyion of the time it wold take me to get there by trial and error. I am wiling to pay for that efficiency.

Short answer: no, I don't think there's an official list. Some university applied math or computer science departments might have them if you don't want to wade through google searches

You could try submitting a training request to Mathworks (https://www.mathworks.com/services/training/request_training.html) and see if they have anyone willing/able to be flexible, but I suspect this would be much more expensive than unofficial tutors.

In addition to this, you can learn the basics with the Onramp tutorial (which is provided for free by Mathworks).
