Not able to resolve error "undefined variable slreq.dngConfigure or class slreq"

I am working on R2019a and I am following the instructions here to connect my MATLAB/Simulink instance to DOORS Next: https://www.mathworks.com/help/slrequirements/ug/requirements-traceability-with-ibm-doors-next.html

When I attempt to configure the MATLAB session using "slreq.dngConfigure" the command fails with the message:

Undefined variable "slreq" or class "slreq.dngConfigure"

Any suggestions on how to get this connection configured appropriately?

The documentation link you are following is for the current release of MATLAB (see top right section on the link for the release version). Since you are working on R2019a, you should refer to the documentation specific for that release:

In this case, the relevant API changed, so you can configure MATLAB with DOORS using the following command:
