I tried all the other options and none of those fixed my issue, and installing it into a new directory fixed the issue. I just added a 2 at the end of the proposed directory.

another step that I made, but I'm not sure if that helped, I installed just matlab and simulink first, after it was completed and activated, I installed the rest of the packages.
UPDATE: I just had a similar issue while updating Matlab on my Mac.
this is what I did, I deleted the folder from Applications and installed first Matlab and Simulink, that avoided the extract error.
