Why does my trial link not have any platforms to choose from on the Product Selection Screen?

After selecting the one-time use link for my trial and proceeding to the Platform Selection screen, there are no platforms to choose from. I can not continue any further as you are not allowed to proceed without first selecting your platform.

This bug has been fixed in Release 2006b+ (R2006b+). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:
