How to include and read data from sub-folders when creating a standalone application?

I am creating an .exe program using the App Designer.

In the startup function, I write

I = imread('./Resources/icons/Eye.png');

figure;

imagesc(I);

In addition, I have included the 'Resource' folder and 'Eye.png' in the Application Compiler. However, when I run the .exe programm, it fails to read this file and cause error.

Looks like you are reading './Resources/icons/Eye.png'. Do you have an Eye.png file within an icons folder inside the Resources folder you attached?

The error shows the file at './Resources/icons/Eye.png' does not exist, but 'Eye.png' is indeed in this path.

There is no "path" in executables. The location './Resources/icons/Eye.png' is relative to the current folder. Then your assumption about what the current folder is might be wrong. Use absolute path names.

I found that I can include the folder in the 'Files installed for your end user', and use pwd + relative path to realize this function.
