label data in dataset for training purposes

I took some measurements with different sensors also recording a video, and based on video footage i precised the time when some event happened. This technique requires that based on that time i label the data that represent the event in data set. What i'd liked to do is to plot the data and to mark the segments that represent the event, just like with a marker when we mark smth. on paper. Is that possible in matlab or through gui-s or smth. it would help me a lot as we all know what a pain is to label data for training.
