MATLAB GUI slow startup

I finshed designing a GUI and packaged it in a standalone application. The app takes a very long time to startup, longer than MATLAB launching. Is there a way to speed up the app startup ? Some answers suggest using the MATLAB production server to speed up the process, but would that require MATLAB be installed on the laptop running the exectuable file ? Thanks.

Can you share some information regarding,

• Is it a GUIDE GUI or App designer GUI?
• What initializations are being made?
• What resources are being used by the application?

You may consider using “drawnow” in your application and then try using profiler to find the part, where the most time is spent.
