Simulink Copilot

Getting Simulink Copilot

Individual seats are available for purchase for commercial and academic customers. Simulink Copilot is included in certain offerings such as Campus-Wide access, Institute-Wide License, and MATLAB and Simulink Suite for Startups. Simulink Copilot is only available in certain regions.

You do not need to install additional software to use Simulink Copilot. After obtaining a seat for Simulink Copilot, link end users to the MATLAB Copilot license that includes Simulink Copilot. They can then use Simulink Copilot after they sign in to the MATLAB desktop (R2026a or newer) with their MathWorks Account. See Set up and Use Simulink Copilot for more details.

Using Simulink Copilot

You can use Simulink Copilot to explain models and errors, learn tools and techniques, get design guidance, and automate predefined tasks with Process Advisor. Simulink Copilot is integrated with the Simulink environment and provides responses based on your open model and MathWorks documentation and resources.

Simulink Copilot consists of features, such as Copilot Chat and Explain with Copilot, that generate responses using Large Language Models (LLMs). Simulink Copilot uses LLMs hosted in the cloud to generate responses.

In R2026a, Simulink Copilot does not generate or modify Simulink models. However, it can provide detailed suggestions and guidance on how you can create or modify a model.

You can disable Simulink Copilot anytime via a user-controlled setting in MATLAB. See Disable Simulink Copilot for more details.

Data Privacy and Security
