Using Cheatsheets to Get Started with Real-Time Simulation and Testing
Learn how cheatsheets can help you get started with real-time simulation and testing with Model-Based Design. The cheatsheets contain tips and tricks to support your Model-Based Design workflow and to get started with Simulink® and Simulink Real-Time™ projects. They are available to download from MathWorks File Exchange.

Hello. My name is Sonja Krzok and I'm an Application Engineer at MathWorks, specialized in real-time simulation and testing. If you're starting to work with real time applications or you already have some experience with it you may acknowledge that there are always some tips or tricks that help you to get started quickly and push forward on those initial steps on more common functions.
Therefore we have created some cheat-sheets and best practices to support you and your model based design workflow, with focus on real-time application on speaker target computers. These cheat-sheets give you, in one to two pages, a short summary on a selected topic, with highlight on which points you should pay special attention, and hints you might not have known before.
We start with Simulink project to show you how to organize and manage your files and settings. Followed by how to get started with Simulink real-time and the best way to log and analyze your data. We address then how to control and instrument your real-time application with built in tools such as dashboard blocks from a Simulink library, a MATLAB app designer to create your own custom instrument panel.
Furthermore performance optimization is a more complex topic and especially relevant for real-time simulation. And that's why we'd like to show you how to set up your model to get the most of Simulink real-time. These cheat-sheets will be soon be expanded to cover further topics such as, how to get from desktop simulation to real-time simulation, workflow benefits in general, or how to set up your test automation.
You can find the link in the video description that will lead you to the MATLAB file exchange for download. These cheat-sheets will give you good insight and help you in the daily work.
