The Engineering Development Group (EDG) is a key leadership development program in MathWorks, enabling candidates from a variety of technical backgrounds to develop and demonstrate their skills for a successful and rewarding career.

As a team member in the EDG for User Experience Designers program, you will enhance your leadership and technical skills, and work on projects with the MathWorks UX Design team. You will gain experience with MathWorks products and user workflows through direct interactions with customersYou will receive mentoring and coaching to prepare for a UX Designer role within the MathWorks UX organization. UX Designers at MathWorks lead projects through the full design process, from early ideas and sketches to wireframes and prototypes, and into active development until pixel-perfect designs "go live" to delight our users across the globe.

This unique blend of work is designed to provide an opportunity for continuous learning and technical development to prepare you for future success. More specifically, you will: 

 

  • Contribute to high impact UX Design projects with teams across Development organizations to strengthen your technical and professional skillsand help advance your career.   

  • Work with project partners to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet user needs and the project partners’ vision.  

  • Help promote standard methodologies in design, usability, and accessibility within the design and engineering teams and across the company.   

  • Provide technical support to MathWorks customers for highly complex technical issues in MATLAB, Simulink, and  other MathWorks products.  

  • Specialize and develop technical skills in your domain and MathWorks product suite.   

  • Develop and demonstrate leadership skills through opportunities to coach and mentor others, and contribute to, initiateor lead process improvement projects.  

 

Qualifiche minime

  • A bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

Ulteriori qualifiche

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a STEM discipline with HCI, Design, or similar specialization 

  • Experience with relevant design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe, Axure)  

  • Portfolio available for viewing, highlighting multiple projects and your direct contributions linked in your resume 

  • Experience crafting user experiences in technical/engineering domains 

  • Programming experience in any programming language (MATLAB, R, Python, C++, Java, JS, etc.)
