Steve Miller, MathWorks
In this webinar we show how Model-Based Design can be applied to the development of an aileron actuation system. The concept of Model-Based Design is explained, and then we model, simulate, and deploy the model developed using, MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape, and other MathWorks products.
Several steps of a Model-Based Design workflow are shown, including:
Engineers using a traditional development process often encounter a number of challenges that result in long development cycles and high development costs. Model-Based Design addresses those challenges by using the model for much more than testing individual systems. Simulating in a single environment, continuous validation against requirements, and automatic code generation enable engineers to develop high quality systems fast.
About the Presenter: Steve Miller is responsible for the technical marketing of the physical modeling products at MathWorks. Steve joined MathWorks as an Application Engineer in 2005 and moved to the Design Automation Marketing group in 2006. Prior to that, Steve worked at Delphi Automotive in Braking Control Systems and at MSC.Software as an Adams specialist, consulting in various capacities at Ford, GM, Hyundai, BMW, and Audi. Steve has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.
